Pharmaceutical knowledge nets prize for vet

A knowledge of pharmaceuticals from Dechra Veterinary Products for farm, equine and companion animals has helped a Lisburn vet to win a competition at the Autumn conference of the Association of Veterinary Surgeons Practising in Northern Ireland (AVSPNI).

Christine Rodgers, who practices at the Lisburn Veterinary Clinic, answered four questions on the Dechra product range after visiting the firm’s stand at the event last month.

The competition included questions about Bovocycline^®, an intrauterine treatment for cattle, and Zycortal^® a replacement therapy for mineralocorticoid deficiency in dogs with primary hypoadrenocorticism (Addison’s disease).

Dechra’s Territory Sales Manager Stephen McCaffrey said: “Our stand at the conference was very busy with veterinary professionals keen to know about the latest products available to assist in their day to day practice.

“Attending events like the Conference is a valuable way to find out the views of veterinary professionals on our products so we can continue to provide the high quality and effective treatments they need.”
